Comments: Eddie attended Lafayette, but had many friends at Ruston. Eddie was killed in action in Vietnam on March 18, 1969. He loved Havana and the many friends he met there. He was
single and had been in
Vietnam less than a month. His National Guard unit was activated. He lived in Torrance, California. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Medal and Purple Heart. He had graduated from St. Mary's
University in San Antonio, Texas. Visit Eddie at the Wall, if you get a chance.

Comments: I was too young for Ruston so Marie got to go there and I went to Ursuline Academy. Fortunately I was rescued and sent to Lafayette! Now I'm living in LA (la-la-land). I've got
two great kids, Samantha and
Mark. Marie, Richard and I all live in the Los Angeles area and see each other frequently. Still trying to track down my old buddy Sherry O'Farrell. Anyone know where she is?

Comments: Though Merici Academy was my Alma Mater, I feel a part of the Ruston family since most of my friends attended Ruston. I have attended most of the Ruston Reunions held in Miami for
years, and will continue to do so for as long as I can. Please keep in touch with me at holajola@aol.com.

Comments: My mother was BUS/CHAPERONE SINCE THE SCHOOL WAS AT CALLE G -She died at 85 10 years ago. She married Jose Gonzalez who was a Ruston Bus Driver, he also died in Tampa in 1980.You
probably don't remember me, but I still have the last yearbook that she brought when she came from Cuba in 1961. My special regards to Mr.Jim Baker and family, it may me very happy to see his
picture, happy memories and to see that some of her students, (Nino Recarey) she was always specially mentioned
still around. God Bless Ruston Academy, let's hope someday will be open in Cuba again!!

Comments: I have wondered whatever became of my friends after we left Cuba. Although I did not attend Ruston Academy, many of my friends did and I would like to hear from anyone who
remembers me especially Patti Garber. I do not have a computer for e-mail but I can be reached by telephone at (631) 363-5020. Tom Darlington has posted this notice for me.

Comments: I have fond memories of so many people I met in both Lafayette and Ruston. After leaving Cuba, we moved to Miami. My parents were transferred to Portugal. Since schooling was
not available for me in
Portugal, I ended up staying with Ginny Gonsalves and family during my sophmore year at Coral Gables High School. I am happily married to Manuel M. Murga (a Pedro Pan exile). He is a CPA
specializing in
International Taxation and a partner in his firm. I have two sons and two adorable grandchildren.
